Goldstone Gallery, opening in February 2025, is a pioneering contemporary fine art space devoted to amplifying censored, silenced, cancelled, and muted voices. It provides an opportunity in a safe space for fearless freedom of expression and tolerance in the art world.
This dynamic space will feature educational public programs and a Substack/newsletter promoting progressive thought rooted in humanistic values aimed at repairing the world.
Nina Sanadze will lead Goldstone Gallery as a curator in collaboration with an amazing team. Drawing from her experiences of severe censorship as a Jewish artist, Nina Sanadze recognised the need for a space championing silenced voices and freedom of expression. Since October 2023, it became clear that most art spaces have grown hostile to Jewish creatives and independent thought. This realisation inspired a proactive response: the creation of a gallery dedicated to amplifying hidden voices, restoring their presence in cultural conversations, and initiating the process of reinstatement.
Goldstone Gallery acknowledges the Traditional Owners of this land and pays respects to their Elders, past, present, and emerging.
Goldstone Gallery is dedicated to presenting compelling and timely exhibitions by local and contemporary artists. While we do not formally represent artists, we showcase their work through our exhibitions and offer a curated selection of their pieces for sale online.
Our online shop will showcase a curated collection of works by talented local and international artists. Every purchase supports our mission and the artists we work with. For any sales inquiries, please feel free to contact us directly at info@goldstonegallery.com.
We gallery values and appreciates your support for our program and artists.
The Goldstone Newsletter | Substack will aim to cultivate alternative progressive thought grounded in a humanistic vision.
It will feature exceptional writing from experts across diverse fields, including philosophy, economics, journalism, history, anthropology, law, politics, and the arts.
Additionally, a writer-in-residence program will be offered within the gallery space, fostering creative collaboration.
Goldstone Gallery is named in honour of Lance Sergeant Aaron Goldstone,, who is connected to the gallery's history. At the age of 23, Aaron enlisted to serve in World War I and tragically lost his life in battle in Belgium in 1916, leaving no grave to honour his sacrifice. To preserve his legacy as a courageous Jewish Australian, a commemorative plaque is planned for installation at the gallery site.
Jewish individuals have made extraordinary contributions to the freedom and development of Australia. As proud citizens, they deserve equal representation and inclusion in the arts and broader society.
Nina Sanadze will lead Goldstone Gallery as a curator.
Nina is an established Melbourne-based visual artist committed to using art as a tool for storytelling, peace-building, and social practice.
